QPR top goalscorer Charlie Austin will miss the game against former club Burnley and faces a "prolonged absence" because of a shoulder injury.
Austin, 24, injured his shoulder in the 2-1 win over Bolton on Tuesday and will need an operation. Defender Aaron Hughes could feature after joining on transfer deadline day.
Burnley will give late fitness tests to midfielder Keith Treacy (neck) and defender Daniel Lafferty (thigh).
Winger Ross Wallace (knee) may return.
He has not featured in the league since August but came through a midweek cup game with Oldham.
